Immigration Services

J.Lee & Associates provides immigration services for both individual and corporate clients.  We aim to provide the same high level of customer service to our individual clientele in their family related immigration cases, as we do for our corporate clientele.  Most immigration cases can be classified as either family-based immigration or employment-based immigration.

Family based immigration involves any immigration benefit where eligibility for the benefit depends on a familial relationship.  For example, a husband sponsoring a wife for permanent residency (“Green Card”), or fiancée filing a K-1 Visa petition to allow the prospective spouse to enter the U.S. in order for the marriage to take place.

Employment based immigration involves any immigration benefit where eligibility for the benefit depends on an employment relationship between the employer and the foreign national employee.  For example, a software company files an H-1B petition for a F-1 student who has just completed her degree in Computer Science at a U.S. university so that she can work for the company as a Software Engineer or a biotechnology company files an application for Alien Employment Certification to allow a Researcher to obtain U.S. permanent residency and work for the company indefinitely.

In addition, for Legal Permanent Residents (LPRs) of the U.S., who wish to obtain the rights and privileges of U.S. Citizenship, the Naturalization process provides the means for obtaining U.S. citizenship.  For example, 5 years after obtaining a “green card” through an employer, Kumar files a N-400 Application for Naturalization or 3 years after obtaining her “green card” through her marriage to Steve, a U.S. Citizen, Fiona files a N-400 Application for Naturalization.
