Special Registration Deadline Extended from Jan 27 to Feb 7, 2003

The INS will soon publish (scheduled for January 27) in the Federal Register a notice which will extend the period in which citizens or nationals of the Group I & II countries may register with the INS in order to comply with the Special Registration requirements, if they have not yet done so.
The initial deadline for Group I countries was December 16, 2002 and for Group II - January 10, 2003. The Group I & II countries are comprised of: Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Eritrea, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, North Korea, Oman, Qatar, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
The deadline for Group III (Pakistan & Saudi Arabia) remains February 21, 2003.
