Pakistan & Saudi Arabia Added to Special Registration List of Countries - Effective - January 13, 2003 - DEADLINE: February 21, 2003

Pakistan & Saudi Arabia have been added to the list of countries whose citizens are required to report to a local INS facility to register. Armenia was originally on the list, but has been taken off.
The list includes: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan & Syria - Citizens and nationals of these countries were required to report between November 15, 2002 and December 16, 2002
The list also includes: Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Eritrea, Lebanon, Morocco, North Korea, Oman, Qatar, Somalia, Sudan, Tunisia,
United Arab Emirates and Yemen. Citizens and nationals of these countries are required to report between December 2, 2002 and January 10, 2002 for registration.
Citizens of Pakistan & Saudi Arabia who meet the following criteria will have
to report between January 13, 2003 and February 21, 2003 to register:
1. Any male who was born on or before January 13, 1987;
2. Who was admitted into the U.S. on or after September 30, 2002; and
3. Who intends to remain in the U.S. after February 21, 2003.
Upon reporting each individual will be required to do the following:
1. Answer any questions under oath asked by an immigration officer
2. Present any travel documents, including, passport, Form I-94 and any other
government issued identification
3. Provide proof of residence, such as copy of leases, title to land, rental agreement,
proof of matriculation at an educational institution or proof of employment, if
applicable
4. Provide other information as required by the INS officer
5. Submit to fingerprinting.
Each individual subject to Special Registration will be required to report within 10 days of the 1 year anniversary of the initial reporting date and must provide INS with notification of a change of address within 10 days of the
change.
